Sri Chinmoy Streets

Over 70 Sri Chinmoy Streets in more than fifteen countries have been dedicated by the local authorities. Every day thousands of people from all faiths and backgrounds traverse these streets and derive inspiration and encouragement from Sri Chinmoy’s message of oneness.

The first street dedicated as part of this programme is in Flushing Meadow Park in New York City, the site of the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament and the location where many multi-day ultramarathons sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon team are held.

“What kind of peace do we seek? …  I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living … not merely peace for Americans, but peace for all men and women; not merely peace in our time, but peace for all time.” – President John F. Kennedy, speech at American University, Washington, D.C., June 10th, 1963

“Since yours is a calm mind, your hope of promoting world peace shall not remain an unfulfilled dream.” – Sri Chinmoy
